Hi kids! Here's a video of our Art activity for family day. A set of simple coasters made of plasticine and lots of imagination! I hope your families loved them. 

OUR ART FOLDERS COVER

Hi kids! Here you are your Art folders' covers inspired by Matisse's cutouts. The task consisted on designing a collage using: GEOMETRIC SHAPES, ORGANIC SHAPES AND POSITIVE AND NEGATIVE SHAPES. It was a little bit messy but SUPER FUN!.

Using this collage as a background we cut the letters of our names and we got these fantastic master pieces!

OUR KLIMT AND KANDINSKY-INSPIRED WORK

After our trees "Klimt style" full of Kandinsky leaves we learned a little bit more about these two authors and decided to do our own version of some of their creations to keep practising on mixing and combining colours, drawing lines and shapes, watercolouring...  Here are some pics of our work, if you'd like to see...// Después de hacer nuestros árboles "Klimt style" llenos de hojas "Kandinsky style", y tras la experiencia descubriendo a Matisse y su arte, decicimos profundizar un poquito más en el trabajo de estos otros dos autores y hacer nuestras propias versiones de alunos de sus cuadros pra seguir aprendiendo sobre cómo combinar colores, trazar líneas, dibujar formas, pintar con acuarela, usar el pincel... Aquí os queda una muestra de nuestro trabajo.

Hi kids! Here's a little video to summarize our paper maché experience. To complement our ocean project, and as part of the school Nature project, we designed and created the following ocean monsters. It was very cool and fun!

Hi kids! Here's a little video with all the steps you took to make yout lovely Nature inspired arty calendars based on Klimt's "Tree of Life" painting and Kandinsky's "Farbstudie Quadrate".//¡Hola! Aquí tenéis un pequeño vídeo con todos los asos que seguistéis para hacer vuestros preciosos calendarios inspirados en la Naturaleza y en el cuadro "El árbol de la vida" de Gustav Klimt y "Farbstudie Quadrate" de Kandinsky.

 

"LEAVES" BY 3rd GRADE

Hi kids, here are your Matisse-inspired creations. It was really fun and I  enjoyed a lot seeing you drawing with scissors "à la Matisse" and getting inspired by Nature just like him.// ¡Hoola! Aquí tenéis viestras creaciones inspiradas por Matisse. Fue muuy divertido y me encantó veros a todos dibujar con las tijeras "a la Matisse" e inspiraros en la naturaleza utilizando las hojas que recogimos.

COOL COLOURS /WARM COLOURS

We have been learning about different types of colours. We have learned that there are COOL colours (blue, purple, green, grey, ...) and WARM colours (red, yellow, orange, brown...). To work on these concepts, we made a painting choosing either cool colours or warm colours. Since we were also working on our ocean unit, we decided our painting will represent four oceans made with patterns and just 3 colours. Here you are the result:

OUR HALLOWEEN ACTIVITY: WITCH´S LEGS

For Halloween, and as a follow up activity to our Halloween story ("Room on the broom", by Julia Donaldson),  we decided to design some witch´s tights with Halloween motifs and patterns. We doodled, drew, cut, and pasted. It was fun and our hall looked very cool with all those witch´s legs around!// Por Halloween, y como actividad complementaria al cuento "Room on  the broom", decidimos diseñar medias de bruja con motivos de Halloween. Dibujamos, recortamos, pegamos... Fue muy divertido y nuestro pasillo quedó genial con piernas de brujas por todos lados.
