LOVELY MONDRIAN

 

During February, as it's Valentine's Day month, we worked on the feeloing of LOVE. Third graders discovered the Dutch artist, Piet Mondrian and his geometric abstraction style using only primary colours.

Apart from discovering a new artist, we learned to make a heart using symmetry, practised drawing parallel and perpendicular lines, coloring, cutting and pasting.

And we also made a big Mondrian-style painting to display our heart creations.

DISCOVERING KEITH HARING

Hi there fourth graders!

We're going to discover a new artist. His name's Keith Haring, and I hope you like his art as much as I do. It's going to be fun! Be ready for different Keith haring tasks. Let's start moving!

PICASSO MONSTERS

Last October-November, while working on the feeling of FEAR and Halloween, we discovered Picasso and his cubist figures. 

We watched the video of the story Picasso's trousers to discover this wonderful artist.

We practiced our cutting skills, drawing shapes, symmetry, colour combination, ...

And we made monsters inspired by Picasso's art. You can see some examples below.

Fift graders made a different version of the same activity, using cardboard and scrap paper to make little sculptures.

FEELINGS SELFIES

Our first Art activity of the year was to draw ourselves at a moment from our summer. We had to choose a moment and draw ourselves according to how we felt at that moment. Below you can see some of our cell-fies.
